Champagne Bertrand Devavry

Since1950, the Devavry Family has been making their own champagne in Champillon, 3km North of Epernay. Their vineyards are scattered in Haut Villers (village of Dom Perignon), in Romery and Champillon (next to Haut Villers), near Aÿ (prized for its pinot noir terroir and famous for houses such as Bollinger), in Sermiers near Reims and around Sezanne.

The consistency and quality of this small producer is remarkable. Husband and wife do all the assemblage and their vintage champagne, dominated by Grand cru and Premier Cru grapes, develops rich yellow fruit bouquet with hints of honey and hawthorn. It deserves to be opened one hour in advance to express the complexity of its array of terroirs.
